Calfork is an app for logging what you eat with a photo, a voice note or a sentence and estimating its calories. This page explains what data it stores, why, and how to delete it.
Data controller and contact

What data we store
- Your account: if you sign in with Google, your name, your email address and the identifier Google gives your account. If you sign up with your email, the name and email you enter. Without an account, the app works as a guest and stores neither a name nor an email.
- What you log: your meals (description, amounts, calories and macronutrients), the photos you send and the transcripts of your voice notes.
- Your approximate country and city, inferred from your connection (not your GPS), to set your language and units; you can change them in the app. We do not store your IP address.
- Your profile, if you fill it in: sex, date of birth, height, weight, activity level and goal, to work out your daily calories.
We do not show ads or sell data. We do not ask for access to your contacts, your email or any other data in your Google account: only your name, email and identifier.
Why
- To recognize what you eat and work out its calories, and to remember your frequent meals.
- To keep your history so you don't lose it when you change phone or browser.
- To keep the app running and fix bugs (technical logs without the content of your meals).
Who we share it with
- Artificial intelligence providers: the photo, text or voice note of each meal is sent to an AI model to recognize or transcribe it, without your name or email.
- Open Food Facts: when you scan a barcode, that code is looked up in their open food database.
- Stripe: if you go Premium, it processes the payment with your email and card. Calfork never sees or stores your card details; it only knows whether your subscription is active and until when.
- Hosting: data and photos are stored on koigrid servers in the European Union.
How long, and how to delete it
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete any meal from the app, and ask us to delete your account and everything in it by writing to the contact email. You can also ask for a copy of your data, correct it or object to its use; if you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Health
Calories and nutrients are rough estimates. Calfork is not medical advice and does not replace a health professional.
